Treherbert Pop-up Story Studio: day 1 For weeks we have been planning and preparing for the opening of the studio to share stories of energy and change with the local community. After days of rigging the former chapel and library on the Bute Street led by the the tireless team of Lisa and Iain at Storyworks UK (with notable help from John, Kath and Osian!) and ably backed by Nancy of Artis Community, the studio opened on not the warmest summer day that Treherbert has ever witnessed – an understatement! However, with the Friends of Cwmsaerbren supporting the opening day with an early meeting at the venue, the cold wind outside was soon in stark contrast to the warmth and buzz inside. The listening chairs began telling their tales, the evocative images of changing times in the area were being soaked up by the vsitors of a wide range of ages, and in no time at all they were starting to share their fascinating stories of changing times and and aspirations and thoughts for the future. Messages and post-its were dropping into various receptacles……………the studio had started to weave its magic. Day 2 – roll on! For images of the rigging and studio, visit https://flic.kr/s/aHskdnw1WW
